Letters From Sweden

The type foundry Letters From Sweden approached us to create a launch film for their typeface "Rund".
We were given full creative freedom to illustrate the font and its unique properties however we saw fit.

The whole concept behind the typeface is based on subtle concave cut outs in some parts of the letters.
Almost as if someone had sculpted each glyph with a large circle. This led us to the idea to create sculptures based on a similar technique in 3d. We built a fully procedural setup that allowed us to iterate quickly on the sculptures making the process very experimental and fun.
